Musk announces new feature will allow users to see how many people read their tweets

After a user claimed that no one reads his tweets, Twitter CEO Elon Musk informed platform users that they will soon be able to see how many times their tweets have been viewed.

On Thursday, Musk took to the social media platform to appeal to individuals to speak up rather than merely scroll by.

He stated, “I meet so many people who read Twitter daily but almost never tweet. “If you’ll pardon me, please participate in the public discussion!”

Rocket_Medic, a Twitter user, stated, “I reply a lot…no one reads my tweets” in response to Musk’s request to speak up more on the platform.

Rocket_Medic was then asked by Musk if he had examined his analytics for tweets, which can be viewed by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner of a tweet.

Musk stated, “Those who read tweets outnumber those who reply, retweet, or like tweets by more than one hundred percent. “Similar to how view counts are displayed for all videos, Twitter will begin displaying view counts for all tweets. It would appear that the system is not as alive as it is.

Musk has advocated for increased speech freedom ever since he purchased the platform in October. The billionaire has also come under fire for some of the actions he has taken to restore that freedom.

Musk claimed earlier this week that Apple had threatened to remove the Twitter app from its store.

After having a “good conversation” with Apple CEO Tim Cook on Wednesday, Musk retracted his claims and received assurances from Cook that the app would remain available in the App Store.
